297 illegal immigrants arrested in six Midwestern states, including Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested numerous people from the Indianapolis area in an illegal immigrations sweep.

A total of 297 people were arrested around the Midwest and 42 of those were from around Indianapolis. The month-long operation aimed to arrest convicted criminals who were illegally in the states.

Of the 42 arrested in Indianapolis seven people re-entered the U.S. after being previously deported, 24 were convicted criminals and 18 were wanted.

ICE arrested suspects from six Midwestern states from several different countries, including Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, India and Zimbabwe.
