Traffic stop leads to several counterfeit credit cards

PUTNAM COUNTY (WISH) – A traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon helps police find several counterfeit credit and gift cards.

An Indiana State Trooper pulled a Chevrolet Impala over for a license plate violation. When the trooper conducted the stop the driver, Halton Kai, 20, gave an invalid driver’s license with another person’s name.

Kai gave the trooper permission to search the vehicle. Located in the passenger side compartment were several counterfeit credit/gift cards.

Kai was taken into custody on preliminary charges of forgery, counterfeiting, driving while suspended and false information.
