INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man accused in a fight that ended in gunfire Sunday surrendered at the City-County Building Wednesday after SWAT spent hours at a home they thought he might be in.

Josh Curbeaux was wanted for attempted murder after an incident on Sunday. But when police surrounded a south side home, they discovered after multiple hours that Curbeaux wasn’t inside.

Police filled the home with gas and sent a robot in, discovering no one was inside. Shortly after, Curbeaux turned himself in.

The incident began Wednesday morning. IMPD officials said SWAT was there while officers served a warrant.

Police initially said Curbeaux was in the house with his wife, but later said they weren’t sure whether he was there. They were waiting for him to either come out or to be able to search the home.

The incident was in the 1600 block of South State Street.
