INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The first day of summer is Saturday and that means it’s also time for fair season to begin.
The 84th Marion County Fair opens on Friday for its 10-day run. Gates open at 5 p.m. on week days and 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
General admission is $5 per person; children age 5 and under and military members with a valid ID are free.
The Marion County Fairgrounds is located at 7300 East Troy Avenue, just east of Interstate 465 and Southeastern Avenue.
One of the highlights of opening night is a dance party featuring the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra.
