CARMEL (WISH) – Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Carmel was the site Friday night for the Pat McAfee Foundation’s “Red, White and Boomstick” fundraiser.

The event raises money for scholarships supporting the sons and daughters of U.S. military personnel.

“Whenever a vet goes over to serve, he’s not the only one serving,” McAfee said. “The family misses out on a parent, a brother, or a sister. That’s why taking care of families was a big deal to my dad and I and that’s why we’re trying to get the Pat McAfee Foundation moving forward. This is our first event. I hope there’s many more to come, but it’s just been a lot of fun, a blast, and hopefully will be a huge success.”

Some of McAfee’s teammates and Pacers donated auction items. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
