KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) – Three businesses were evacuated after an industrial propane leak on Friday morning in Kokomo.

The leak was at Moon Fabricating on West Morgan Street after an employee hit a 1,000 gallon propane tank.

24-Hour News 8’s news partner at the Kokomo Tribune say the tank was knocked off a high-pressure vale making the gas leak into the air.

High winds pushed the gas east in the direction of the Coca-Cola Bottling Kokomo plant and Robert’s B &K drive-in.

Employees remained outside for about an hour while the leak was neutralized. Morgan Street and Davis Road were closed during the evacuation.

AmeriGas was able to plug the tank.
