Community opens hearts and wallets for families in dam incident

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) – Donations to help the families of the teens involved in the June 6 dam incident continue to come in.

Several restaurants and residents from around the area and the county sent in money to help the Moran, Chadbourne and McLevish families.

24-Hour News 8’s news partners at the Daily Journal say that more than $35,000 has been raised so far.

Jason Moran and Michael Chadbourne died after jumping in the Big Blue River trying to save Sarah McLevish from river. McLevish is still in the hospital.

Just this past weekend hundreds of motorcyclists came together, waving blue ribbons in honor of Chadbourne and Moran after their actions that day.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Sarah McLevish. According to the Facebook group “When Sarah Smiles” Sara was in stable but critical condition as of Saturday.
