INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Three people were sent to area hospitals following a two car crash in an interstate construction zone early Monday.

Indiana State Police received the call shortly after 3 a.m. Monday.

Investigators say it was a rear end accident involving two passenger cars on the city’s south side.

The accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-65 in the construction zone, just south of I-465, between Thompson Road and Edgewood Avenue.

Medics transported three patients with what was reported to be non-life threatening injuries. The interstate was closed for a period of time, but has since reopened. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
