AC Charity Golf Classic raises $150,000

CARMEL (WISH) – 24-Hour News 8 sports director Anthony Calhoun hosted his annual AC Charity Golf Classic at Woodland Country Club in Carmel Monday afternoon.

This year’s outing raised $150,000 for Teachers’ Treasures, the most money ever raised in one event. Teachers’ Treasures helps provide school supplies to teachers in need.

Several sports celebrities played, including Pacers head coach Frank Vogel, Colts tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen, Colts punter Pat McAfee and Lions head coach Jim Caldwell.

“It’s always great getting out of the office a little bit to play some golf,” said Vogel. “It’s certainly more enjoyable when you know it’s for a good cause.”

“To help the teachers and kids with supplies in their classroom is extremely important,” Caldwell said. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
