Hundreds lose power from Tuesday storm

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Power and Light Company reported hundreds of customers have lost power after central Indiana was hammered by powerful storms Tuesday afternoon.

As of 11:00 P.M., IPL reported that 645 customers were still without power.

More than half of the outages were reported in the southwestern corner of Indianapolis.

IPL power crews were dispatched to restore service.

Duke Energy reported 105 customers without power as of 11:00 P.M. and stated crews were “assessing damage.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
