INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officials at the Indianapolis International Airport say only minor injuries were reported after a small private plane went down Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the airport around 12:20 p.m. Airport spokesperson Carlo Bertolini says the plane went down in a grassy area on airport property near the old terminal.

There were two people on board. One individual was treated for injuries and taken to a local hospital. The second person on board was not hurt.

Bertolini says the FAA has been notified. The plane landed in such a way that it was not impacting airport operations.

According to aircraft registration information on Flight Aware’s website, the plane is a 1976 Cessna T207 registered to Erie, Colorado-based Aero Systems Inc. The company’s website said it maintains and repairs aircraft, along with providing flights for photography, surveying and mapping. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
