INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Regional Operations Center, also known as the ROC, is back open for business.

Indianapolis Homeland Security was allowed back in the building shortly before this year’s Indy 500. It’s now estimated 150 IMPD officers are working out of the building.

This comes after several safety concerns forced Public Safety Director Troy Riggs to move all IMPD personnel out of the ROC in September.

At the time, Code Enforcement and the Indianapolis Fire Department considered the building a hazard.

The former Eastgate Mall property lacked a basement sprinkler system and a firewall. A firewall has been installed and the sprinkler system is now working and certified. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
