INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is inviting people with professional or volunteer experience with trails to help guide Indiana’s trails plan.

It says a brainstorming session on July 11 in Indianapolis is geared toward members of local governments and nonprofit organizations that maintain public trails and members of citizen groups that support trails.

The input will be used to update the 2006-2016 Indiana State Trails Plan, known as “Hoosiers on the Move.” The main focus is to gather input and feedback on the state’s Visionary Trails Network, a collection of bikeways and greenways that connect destinations and communities. Visionary trails pass through two or more counties.

The brainstorming session runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT at the Indiana Government Center South Conference Center in downtown Indianapolis. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
