3 more tornadoes confirmed in northern Indiana

PLYMOUTH, Ind. (AP) — The National Weather Service says it has confirmed three additional tornadoes hit northern Indiana.

It said Wednesday that two of the tornadoes struck the Plymouth area about 20 miles south of South Bend early Tuesday. One was rated an EF-1 on the Fujita scale, with peak winds estimated at 95 mph and traveling about a quarter of a mile. The other twister was an EF-0 with estimated peak winds of 80 mph that traveled about 1.3 miles

Another EF-0 tornado with estimated peak winds of 80 mph traveled nearly two miles near the Kosciusko County town of Milford.

The tornadoes destroyed two farm buildings, caused a wall to collapse at a state highway garage, amid other damage.

The weather service earlier confirmed an EF-1 tornado hit the town of LaGrange.
