INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) –  Police say they have two men in custody after a truck crashed into a house early Wednesday morning.

Around 2:45 a.m. an IMPD officer said he saw a pickup truck speeding down North Olney Street  near East 30th Street.  But before the officer could turn on his lights and siren, the truck sped off.

A short distance away police say one of the men tossed a stolen handgun out of the window.  In the next moments, the officer said  the driver lost control, struck an embankment and crashed into an abandoned home.

The house had a lot of damage, but police say no one was inside.

After being taken into custody, the driver and passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor bumps and scrapes.
