Northwest neighborhood celebrates Fourth of July with parade

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Neighborhoods and communities across central Indiana celebrated the Fourth of July on Friday, including the kids in the Northern Estates neighborhood on the city’s northwest side.

Neighbors said it’s a great way to meet new people and keep crime away.

“Because with people working, you don’t always see everybody and this brings everybody, quite a few out, so every year you see more and more, it gets bigger each year, it’s great,” Marybeth Reynolds said, who has lived in the neighborhood for 8 years.

“I think by everyone coming out collectively and meeting on the street and watching all the pageantry of the little parade is nice and you know, you can start chit-chating with folks and that sort of thing,” Sue Crimson said.

The kids got to ride in red, white and blue wagons, bikes and ATVs.
