IMPD officer assaulted on Pan Am Plaza

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An IMPD officer was assaulted after trying to break-up a fight between multiple juveniles on Friday evening .

Several juveniles were fighting on the Pan Am Plaza at 11:40 p.m.

Lt. Chris Bailey approached the group, and saw two males were punching a female. They fled the area when they saw the officer.

One of the men was found and arrested for possession of marijuana and resisting. While Lt. Bailey was walking the suspect to the car he was punched in the back of the head by an uninvolved subject.

Lt. Bailey received injuries to his knee, elbow and wrist. The suspect who assaulted Lt. Bailey had not been located. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
