Passenger critically injured after car hits utility pole

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police said a person was critically injured after a crash on the city’s south side early Saturday morning.

According to a dispatcher with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, a car crashed into a utility pole around 3:20 a.m. in the 2700 block of Madison Avenue, which is in front of a Kmart store.

The driver and passenger were taken to IU Methodist Hospital.

Police said the passenger was in critical condition. The condition of the driver was not immediately clear.
