INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Mayor Greg Ballard has asked all City-County facilities flags to be flown at half-staff following the shootout that killed an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer.

The officer who was killed in the line of duty on Saturday night was identified as Officer Perry Renn. Officer Renn was a 22-year veteran of the police department.

Flags are to remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Officer Renn’s burial.

Business and residents throughout Indianapolis are asked to also lower their flags in honor of Officer Renn.
