COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – The cause for a fire at Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies will remain undetermined.

Columbus Fire dispatchers say they received numerous calls Monday after a fire started outside a business just after 10 a.m.

According to officials, the outside garbage fire started in plastic containers outside of Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, a business in the 600-block of Gladstone.

The fire was found on the northeast corner of the building grounds. An approximately 6,000 square foot storage container was fully engulfed in flames.

Thick black smoke started to fill the air as firefighters worked to put out the flames.

After fire officials investigated the scene they found no evidence to determine what started the fire. The fire will remain undetermined. Footage gained from Faurecia’s security video did not give them a clear view of the fire. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
