INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Colts are also showing their support for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The Colts turned on the blue lights at the Colts Complex on 56th Street.

Colts players hung the lights Wednesday afternoon in honor of IMPD Officer Perry Renn.

People around Indiana are showing their support for Officer Renn. A Facebook page called “Indy Going Blue” started in his honor. It encourages people to buy blue light bulbs to put outside their homes.

Organizers want people to get them by Friday, the day of Officer Renn’s funeral, to help pay their respects and support his family. The blue light bulbs can be found at most hardware stores for around $5.

Community members are asking everyone to shine their porch light on Friday to show support for Renn’s family and the department.
