INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) —The visitation for Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Perry Renn will be held Thursday afternoon.

Visitation will be at Crown Hill Funeral Home from 2 – 8 p.m. Hundreds of people are expected, from Officer Renn’s family, fellow officers and anyone from the public who wants to pay their respects.

This week has been spent preparing to say goodbye to Officer Renn and remembering a fallen hero.

Ahead of the visitation Thursday and funeral on Friday, Officer Renn’s squad car has been outside IMPD’s North District Headquarters serving as a memorial.

Wednesday night, a vigil was held at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge to remember him and support his fellow officers. The public came out and religious leaders were there, all holding up blue lights. They all had the same message – that police and the community have to work together to keep the streets safe so tragedies like this don’t continue to happen.
