INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – NASCAR superstar Jeff Gordon is counting down the days to Indianapolis. He helped make the Brickyard and it remains one of his favorite events.
The familiar rainbow car he drove to victory lane in the inaugural Brickyard 400 20 years ago spent some time outside the museum at IMS on Monday. It’ll make appearances around the area ahead of this year’s 400 on July 27th.
Gordon said this event put his career on fast forward.
“I’m extremely excited about going to Indianapolis,” said Gordon. “I think that the way our cars are performing, the way our engines are performing, Indianapolis is a track that we certainly can win at. It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years, but looking forward to celebrating those 20 years hopefully with another win.”
Gordon is going for his fifth Brickyard 400 win.
