INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police in Indianapolis are investigating the robbery of a Speedway Gas Station on the city’s northeast side early Monday.
Investigators say the robber matches the description of a suspect who robbed a person earlier in nearby Lawrence.
Police say shortly after 4 a.m. an armed suspect entered the Speedway Gas Station in the 7300 block of Pendleton Pike and demanded cash.
According to the clerk, the suspect made off with less than $100. The suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks, 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, wearing a gray t-shirt and black shorts, armed with a black handgun.
Investigators say they heard from Lawrence police who said they were investigating the robbery of an individual not too far from the Speedway Gas Station. The victim in that robbery told police two males were crouched behind a utility box and jumped out to rob him.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
