Indiana Black Expo offering parents help

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Parents walked inside the Indiana Convention Center for the Parent Engagement Summit. Indiana Black Expo put together the one-day free event.

Parents will learn tips on how to empower their children. The goal is to connect parents with needed resources and support groups.

Pastor Theron D. Williams, of Mt. Carmel Church was selected by IBE as their keynote speaker. In a one on one interview Williams encouraged parents from all backgrounds to attend.

“It’s not a Black or White or Asian issue it’s a humane issue,” said Williams. ” All of us need encouragement.”

The summit will also have experts on hand to teach parents how to understand scores from standardized test. Those in attendance will participate in group discussions touching on education health, and even child care.
