INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Detectives in Indianapolis are investigating a possible drive-by shooting that sent one person to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at Gambel and Rainbow View on the city’s southwest side, near Mann and Interstate 465. Officers responded there around 12:30 p.m.

Dispatchers with IMPD say one person was shot. The victim was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and was awake and breathing.

Police say this was likely a drive-by shooting, as a vehicle was seen leaving the scene. Initial reports described the vehicle as a silver Impala, last seen eastbound from the area. Police later said there was no description available for the vehicle involved.
