It’s time to prepare for the summer drought

Donny Duke is a Design & Sales Manager at Litchfield Landscape, a division of Engledow Group has tips on how you can prepare to keep your lawn alive during the hot days of July.

Smart Irrigation Month was started by Irrigation Association in 2005 to increase public awareness of the value of water-use efficiency and grow demand for water-saving products, practices, and services.

How much water should I put on my lawn? Donny Duke says , “Most lawns in Indiana need about 1 – 1.5 inches of water per week.” While most people think a lack of water will damage the lawn, overwatering may cause more damage. The best method is to thoroughly soak the lawn once a week, or twice a week separated by 3 or 4 days.
