INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Detectives in Indianapolis said Thursday morning they made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened last weekend.

Police arrested 25-year-old Jacob Stricker in connection to last Saturday’s crash. A bicyclist riding her bike discovered the body of 22-year-old Patrick Hurd, of Merrillville, in a ditch in the 8800 block of Township Line Road. Investigators believe Hurd was walking late at night when he was hit by a car that left the scene.

Detectives say Stricker turned himself into police around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. He has been preliminarily charged with failure to stop after an accident resulting in death.

He was taken to the Arrestee Processing Center where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
