LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A former pastor was sentenced to seven years after pleading guilty to ten voyeurism and child exploitation charges in May.

Robert Lyzenga admitted to planting cameras inside air fresheners in the women’s bathroom stalls at Sunrise Christian Reformed Church. He said in court it was never his intention to tape children. However, he said he reviewed the tape, saw kids and continued to record.

Lyzenga was sentenced to four years in prison and three years supervised probation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
