7-year-old hospitalized after ATV accident

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – A 7-year-old was transported by Lifeline after an ATV accident.

The accident happened just after midnight on Saturday near 9400 North County Road 400 East in Greenfield.

32-year-old Gregory Wensel was driving the ATV with his 7-year-old son. Wensel hit a rut while trying to make a left turn. The ATV flipped and landed on the leg of the 7-year-old.

A Lifeline helicopter transported the passenger to Riley Hospital for Children for injuries to his right leg. He was listed in stable condition.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts. The use of alcohol was being investigated.
