INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man wanted for a robbery causing serious bodily injury charge out of South Bend was found in downtown Indianapolis Saturday night by IMPD officers.

According to IMPD Lt. Chris Bailey, ERG officers were informed earlier that Deloren Wilson, 22, has ties to Indy and he may be in the area this weekend.

Police in South Bend said Wilson shot a person during an armed robbery. That victim is listed in critical condition as of Saturday night.

Officers saw Wilson walking near Illinois and Maryland Streets. Wilson started to run, but officers were able to tackle him and take him into custody.

Police said Wilson had a gun in his waistband.

According to Bailey, Wilson was in IMPD police custody as of 10 p.m. Saturday.

IMPD initially said Wilson was wanted for a murder charge out of South Bend. They have since corrected this.
