INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man accused of murdering a wife for a second time fought with the woman’s son before the wife’s body was discovered, court documents reveal.
Witnesses saw Tony Degrafreed put Jordan Yarbro, the victim’s son, in a choke hold, according to court documents. Witnesses also said Degrafreed stabbed the son in the chest with scissors. Degrafreed then left the house, which is when Yarbro discovered his mother dead.
When police arrived at the home, Degrafeed was holding scissors and had blood on his clothes.
Police investigators found a bloody baseball bat and bloody knife near Rebecca Degrafreed’s body. An autopsy revealed she had three cuts on her neck and multiple skull fractures.
Tony Degrafreed was in court on Tuesday afternoon. He was formally charged with murder and battery by means of a deadly weapon.
According to court documents, Degrafreed was convicted of murder in March of 1995. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison but only served about half of that time behind bars.
