Indy’s latest homicide victim was 15 years old

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The person shot and killed Monday night near 38th and Station streets has been identified as a 15-year-old.

The Marion County coroner said 15-year-old Ja’Vonne Ellis died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. near a dollar store in the area. Witnesses told police they saw two men running from the scene in opposite directions.
