GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — An Indianapolis couple was arrested this week on preliminary drug charges after a lengthy police investigation.

Thirty-three-year-old Zachariah Long and 32-year-old Christina Cowles were arrested Tuesday afternoon. The two had been under investigation by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department and the Greensburg Police Department for their apparent drug activity in the area. Police say Long has an extensive criminal history.

According to police, Long and Cowles planned to meet at a parking lot to deliver $800 worth of crystal methamphetamine in exchange for cash.

Police arrived and placed the pair under arrest. Detectives planned to obtain a search warrant for the couple’s car in hopes of finding more evidence, 24-Hour News 8’s news partners at The Greensburg Daily News report.

Long and Cowles remained at the Decatur County Jail Wednesday with no bond. They have both been preliminarily charged with delivery of methamphetamine, a level 2 felony.
