Two injured after shooting at West Lafayette apartment complex

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) – Two men were injured in a shooting at a West Lafayette apartment complex early Saturday morning, according to police.

The Lafayette Police Department responded to Spring Garden Apartments, located at 360 Teal Road, around 3:30 a.m. after hearing reports that a person had been shot.

Officers with the Lafayette Police Department, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police responded and set up a perimeter. However, the shooting suspect had already fled the area.

Two victims were found in the apartment complex. One man had injuries to his hand and another man had injuries to his right leg from fragments of a bullet.

The first victim was taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital and is listed in stable condition. The other victim refused treatment at the scene.

Witnesses told police that a black man with longer hair was the possible suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident should call (765) 807-1200 or the We-Tip Hotline.
