Person shot during burglary on city’s near north side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting on Sunday afternoon.

IMPD was called to the 3100 block of North College Avenue for reports of a person shot, shortly after 1 p.m.

A man was fatally shot when three people entered the home. The intruders may have entered the home from the side entrance.

The person who lives in the home spotted the burglars and gunfire was exchanged.

IMPD said it was not clear who fired the shots or how many shots were fired. Two subjects are wanted for questioning.

The resident of the home was not hurt.

The subject who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity was not released as of Sunday afternoon.
