Indiana partnership aids domestic violence victims

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana county attorney’s office and a community advocacy group have partnered in an effort to help victims of domestic violence.

The Office of the Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney and the YWCA North Central Indiana will offer a support group to Hispanic victims of domestic violence in Elkhart County. The group will be facilitated by the attorney’s office and will feature a bilingual counselor from the YWCA.

The office’s Victim Assistance Division will also offer a number of related services, including facilitating protective orders, safety planning and working with victims as they navigate the legal system. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
