Burglars use vehicle registration in Fishers crime

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – Fishers police are issuing a warning to residents after a different kind of burglary.

The crime happened at a home in the Brooks Landing Neighborhood at 104th Street and Olio Road. Police say they are looking for burglars broke into a resident’s car while it was parked at a local business.

Investigators say the thieves took the garage door opener and the vehicle registration.

Police say the burglars used the home address on the registration to find the home and the garage door opener to get inside.

Residents are encouraged to keep garage doors and registrations in a locked or hidden area of their cars.
