Indy’s hockey team unveils jersey, introduces mascot

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indy Fuel, Central Indiana’s new professional hockey team, introduced its new mascot and unveiled the team jersey to fans on Friday.

The special announcement was made on opening day of the Indiana State Fair at The Coliseum.

“Nitro” was introduced as the team’s mascot. He’s a red dragon who was named with the help of fans on social media. He’ll be at the Fuel’s 36 home games, serve as community ambassador and make public appearances with youth groups.

After Nitro was welcomed to the team, the official Indy Fuel jersey was unveiled. You can purchase that online here.
