Police chase ends in crash on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A police pursuit ended in a crash on the city’s northeast side early Friday morning.

Shortly before 4 a.m. officers say they were trying to stop the driver of a pickup truck for a traffic violation.

The male driver sped away and led police on a chase that ended with a crash on Mud Creek Road between East 86th and 96th streets.

The driver of the pickup lost control of the vehicle and crashed at a bend in the road. The driver was conscious when taken from the truck and transported to the hospital.
