INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A driver was trapped in a vehicle early Friday morning after colliding with a school bus on the southwest side of Indianapolis.
It happened shortly before 6 a.m. at West Minnesota Street and South Holt Road.
Police dispatchers with IMPD say the female driver of the minivan was trapped in the vehicle and needed to be extricated. She was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition.
The female driver of the school bus was not seriously hurt but was taken to a IU Health Methodist Hospital to be checked out. She was listed in good condition.
The Wayne Township Fire Department responded to the scene and reports the bus is from Duran School Services, located in Michigan.
There were no children on board the bus.
Crews expected there to be traffic delays throughout the morning as the crash was cleared up.
