Colts vets give rookies special cuts at camp

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) –  The Colts play their first preseason game on Thursday at the Jets, but on Monday night, the team had some fun at camp in Anderson.

Colts Offensive Lineman Jack Mewhort, along with some other rookies, got some wild haircuts courtesy of Colts veterans like Cory Redding.

Redding actually owns his own barber shop in Austin.

“You know what, I had some masterpieces,” Redding said. “I was pretty stoked about the creativity that popped into my mind.”

Redding said Monday night’s haircut rookie initiation was another fun way to display team bonding.

Mewhort loved every minute of it.

It was fun and something I will remember for a long time,” he said. “It was something different to do at night instead of going back and studying your iPad.”

So what does the head coach Chuck Pagano think about the haircuts?

“They were all pretty egregious if you ask me,” Pagano said. “I don’t know if you saw (Jack) Mewhort’s, that was pretty bad. Hopefully, we get them all cleaned up.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
