INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Crowds of Hoosiers were at the 5th Annual André Carson Central Indiana Job Fair on Wednesday.
It’s held at Ivy Tech Corporate College and Culinary Center at 28th and Meridian streets.
The fair offers those looking for a job the chance to meet with more than 70 employers. Congressman Carson has made the fair an annual event as part of his efforts to serve Indianapolis.
“It’s great that all of the employers have come out to get people employed,” said Leonard McGee, who was at the fair looking for a job. “It shows that the job market has picked up and a lot of employers are hiring.”
Those looking for a job could also get help with their resume.
Congressman Carson said 1,280 job seekers came to the fair to meet with 78 different employers from all over central Indiana.
“Today’s job fair was a huge success,” said Carson in a press release. “Connecting folks in our community with local businesses looking to hire is key to developing Indianapolis and our local economy.”
