INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An 18-year-old pizza delivery driver is recovering after she told police she was attacked on the job.

An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report states the attack happened outside an apartment on the near east side around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The report said the driver was making a delivery 59 Rural Street, but a man and a woman outside 23 Rural Street flagged her down saying they were waiting for the food.

It goes on to say that when the couple was preparing to pay, the driver was suddenly knocked to the sidewalk and that one of the suspects held her down. Police say the robbers took some money and the victim’s cell phone before running off behind the apartment. The driver was able to escape to her car with only cuts and bruises.
