INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A SWAT situation that lasted nearly five hours ended late Wednesday without an arrest.

Around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday,  Indianapolis Metropolitan Police were called to the 8300 block of Meadowlark Drive for reports of shots fired.

That scene is near East 42nd Street and North Post Road.

Investigators say there had been a fight going on most of the day at a home in that location.

At some point police say someone ran outside and fired a gun. No one was hurt.

Officers say one person ran off and they thought the other ran back inside the house.

Around 11:30 pm, police say the SWAT Team discovered no one was inside the residence and the scene was cleared. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
