INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A date has been set for everyone who bought shirts that honor fallen IMPD Officer Perry Renn to wear them.

The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #86 announced on Friday that a “Day of Unity” has been set for Friday, Sept. 5 at the request of Officer Renn’s family. Renn was shot and killed in the line of duty in July.

The shirts read #IWillAlwaysGetOutOfMyCar.

The FOP sold more than 1,000 shirts honoring fallen Officer Perry Renn in it’s first day of sales. Funds raised by the $15 shirts go directly to help those in blue, through the Indianapolis Police Foundation.

Organizers said last week their message was spreading. They say someone in British Columbia Canada bought a shirt online.
