Man critical following west side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are investigating a shooting on the west side of Indianapolis early Friday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m. police were called to the 1700 block of Countryside Drive which is near West Morris Street and Bridgeport Road.

The initial call was for a disturbance at this location. That disturbance turned into a shooting.

When officers arrived they located a man inside the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the stomach.

EMS personnel transported the shooting victim, a man in his late 20s, to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

According to investigators, the alleged shooter was still on the scene when they arrived.
