Lafayette home robbed after residents hit with a handgun

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Two Lafayette residents say they were hit with a handgun after their home was broken into early Saturday morning.

According to Lafayette Police, two people reported forced entry into their residence on the 1300 block of South Street around 2:30 a.m. They described the suspects as being 5’8, with stocky builds, wearing bandanas and wearing hoodies.

The residents told police that a handgun was displayed and used to strike both of them. Their injuries were minor, and later refused medical treatment. They told police that the two suspects fled on foot after taking personal property from their residence.

Lafayette Police setup a perimeter but have not found any persons of interest at this time.
