Police searching for suspect after two people shot on city’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a person shot on Saturday just before 5 a.m.

Dispatchers received a call that a female was being followed and getting shot at near East 30th Street and North Gale Street. Shortly after the call police were told that two people showed up at the hospital with gun shot wounds. Police say that the two incidents are related.

The two people were shot near East 30th Street and Station Street. The victims showed up at Community Hospital East in stable condition. They were then transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.

According to PIO officer Rafael Diaz, IMPD officers found a car that was supposedly the suspect’s car, but no one was inside the vehicle when they arrived.

Police were still out at the scene canvassing that area and searching for a suspect. They say the incident was still under investigation as of 6:45 a.m.
