Fatal accident in Noble County

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) Police in Noble County say one person died following a crash. Police arrived at U.S. 6 and State Road 9 after receiving a call around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Indiana State Police.

Witness told police, a Toyota passenger car was headed north on Indiana State Road 9 and failed to see traffic signals when the box truck hit the Toyota.

Police said the driver of the Toyota died and the driver of the box truck went to a hospital with minor injuries.

Police could not identify the victim of the accident. However, they said the Noble County Sheriff’s Department would release more information at a later time.

State Road 9 was re-opened on Sunday morning. However, Highway 6 was still closed as of 11 a.m. Sunday.
